Neal Anthony, a Warren County man who has been harassed with anti-gay graffiti, paintball attacks on his home, and rocks thrown threw his windows, is now receiving death threats.

On Saturday, June 9, Anthony’s partner Mike woke to find a message spray painted on the side of their house that says “die Neal”. He said local sheriff’s investigators have no leads. It’s a more significant sign of the anti-gay hate he has faced this year.

Anthony has spent more than $5,000 on security equipment to protect his home, and has spent more than $10,000 repairing his home after three teenagers pelted it with 91 paint balls.

The anti-gay graffiti included “All gays go to hell”, “fags deserve 2 die” and “your mama is hell bound”. They were painted on Anthony’s stately home on April 5 and 6. The home has served as the homestead for the Anthony family for four generations and was built in 1851. It was completely restored last year.

The ACLU and the Hate Crimes Taskforce with the Tennessee Equality Project are investigating the latest incident.

Anthony appears on “Out & About Today TV” on NewsChannel 5+ this month to talk about the incidents and his frustration with local law enforcement.
