The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee announces its annual call for discretionary grant applications. Nonprofit organizations serving to improve the well-being of residents of the Middle Tennessee area* are eligible and encouraged to apply. Grant applications are available online at cfmt.org.  The application deadline is August 3, 2009 at 4:30 p.m.
 
Whether it’s an employment training program or an arts group for seniors, The Community Foundation supports worthy nonprofit organizations across Middle Tennessee through its annual grantmaking process. 
 
“Our grantmaking is at the heart of our work to support the needs of this community in partnership with our nonprofit partners,” said Ellen Lehman, president of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. “We expect a larger volume of applications and a highly competitive selection process this year as nonprofits work to sustain their vital services. The Community Foundation is committed to helping organizations achieve their core missions.”
 
All tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations applying for discretionary grants must be profiled on GivingMatters.com. Grants will be awarded, based upon exhibited need, to nonprofit organizations serving a wide range of causes, including: education, health, social services, and general community programs. The Foundation’s discretionary grant recipients will be announced in late fall 2009.
