Vanderbilt University has been chosen as the 2010 site for Campus Pride’s Summer Leadership Camp, the best known national GLBTQI experience of its kind for undergraduate college students.
The camp will be held July 20-25 in effort to develop stronger undergraduate student leaders and safer, more GLBT-friendly colleges and universities.
Participants have the opportunity to learn valuable campus organizing skills, coalition building and strategies for creating change at colleges and universities.
Registration costs $795 through April and includes all lodging for five nights, breakfast, lunch and dinner each day as well as all educational program materials and entertainment. Registration costs $895 after April 16. Early applications are suggested as space is limited.
According to its Web site, Campus Pride strives to kindle this passion and inspire the voice and action among student leaders. The educational program promotes progressive critical thinking and leadership concepts built on a foundation of social justice and civility.
Expert faculty and presenters encourage activism and individual growth to become a more effective change agent and leader on campus. The “campy” environment also encourages participants to openly express themselves and have fun.
