A healthy pet is a happy pet, and one one-stop shop in Nashville closely follows that age-old philosophy.

Dizzy's Dog Wash and Corner Store is a self-service dog wash that offers all-natural shampoos and other cleaning products for your pet. All drop-offs are by appointment.
Pet owners are assisted in their first attempt at dog washing. Owner Lynn Higgins says that her store provides all the necessary tools to give your a dog a good cleaning.
"We have mats, towels, blow dryers and all the necessities," she said. "The typical session lasts about half an hour."
In addition to their dog washing service, the store sells all-natural foods and treats. Their educated staff is able to handle questions about pet allergies and illnesses. Reference books on medical conditions and natural treatments are also available for purchase.
"Our emphasis is on nutrition," she said. "What makes us different is that every product is reviewed by us when it comes in the door."
She stresses the fact that package labeling can often be misleading, and owners should consult with educated professionals before selecting the proper food for their dogs.
According to Higgins, the price of an all-natural diet is reasonable, especially considering the potential costs if your dog is suffering from poor nutrition. She cites a 2009 New York Times study that claimed the average cost of a veterinary visit was $135.
"You can often save trips to the vet if you just feed your dog a healthy diet," Higgins said.
Dizzy's, which opened in 2003, is located near 100 Oaks Mall in Berry Hill. The store continues to attract an eclectic clientele.
"We have people from every walk of life and pets of all types and sizes, from little miniature puppies to 225 lb. dogs," Higgins said.
