A Zumbathon®, which is a non-stop Zumba dance fitness party, will be held Friday, Aug. 20, 2010 from 6-9 p.m. in the gymnasium of the Margaret Maddox YMCA in East Nashville located at 2624 Gallatin Road, to raise money to help the Nashville Cat Rescue.
The Nashville Cat Rescue has taken in more than 100 cats and kittens in the aftermath of the devastating May flooding in middle Tennessee.
They are a no-kill shelter, and have taken on animals from many other area shelters that would’ve been forced to put the animals down.
The Nashville Cat Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing cats and kittens from the streets and high-kill shelters and placing them in loving, permanent homes.
Zumba® is a Latin-inspired dance aerobics class that has taken over middle Tennessee fitness centers and locations worldwide, including many YMCA’s. The Margaret Maddox YMCA has generously donated use of their gymnasium for this community event. Anyone interested in attending the fun fitness event can do so for a $10 donation at the door. You do not have to be a YMCA member to attend this open, community event to help the Nashville Cat Rescue.
You can come for a portion of the evening or the entire three-hour dance fitness party. Participants should come dressed to exercise and have fun. Door prizes are courtesy of The Pied Piper Creamery and The Pied Piper Eatery in East Nashville, Otter’s Chicken Tenders, Sweaty Bands, and KT Tape will be awarded. Light snacks will be provided courtesy of a generous donation from Bagel Face Bakery in East Nashville.
