Nashville Victory Toast, an event celebrating the one-year anniversary of the non-discrimination ordinance, will be held at Nero's Grill on Wednesday, Sept. 15 from 6-8 pm. This informal event is hosted by the Tennessee Equality Project (TEP).

Complimentary appetizers will be served and there will be a champagne toast at 7 p.m. A cash bar is also available. At this time, seven Council members and the vice mayor have confirmed their attendance at the event.

For only $25, you can become a host committee member for the event. You will get your name on the email invitation, a drink ticket for the event, and a year-long membership in TEP. To be part of the host committee or to RSVP, contact Chris Sanders at chris@tnequalityproject.com.

The non-discrimination ordinance, passed by the Metropolitan Council and signed by the Mayor, was signed on Sept. 15, 2009. A similar ordinance is now being considered by the Memphis City Council.
